Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CodeVault LLC ("ProofRanks," "we," "us") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use proofranks.com and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account data: email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), display name/handle, and preferences.
- Communications: messages you send us and support requests.
- Alert preferences: phone number and notification settings, if you opt into them.
Brokerage data (via SnapTrade)
When you connect a brokerage, you authorize our data partner SnapTrade to provide us read-only access to your account holdings, balances, and transaction history. We use this to compute and display your verified track record. We never receive your brokerage login credentials, and we cannot place trades or move funds. You can disconnect at any time.
Payment data (via Stripe)
Subscriptions and creator payouts are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card or bank details; Stripe handles them under its own privacy policy.
Information collected automatically
- Device, browser, IP address, and usage/log data, and similar technical information.
- Cookies and local storage used to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- To compute, verify, and publish track records and to power alerts you opt into (in-app, email, SMS, push).
- To process subscriptions and creator payouts.
- To communicate with you about your account, security, and changes to the Service.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
3. How we share information
- Publicly, the aggregate verified performance described above.
- With subscribers, the trade-level feed and alerts of a creator they actively subscribe to.
- With service providers who process data on our behalf, including SnapTrade (brokerage data), Stripe (payments), Supabase (database/auth/hosting), Cloudflare (hosting/CDN), Resend (email), and Twilio (SMS). Each acts under its own terms and privacy policy.
- For legal reasons, to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of ProofRanks, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
4. Your choices and rights
You may access or update your account information, disconnect a brokerage, adjust alert settings, and request deletion of your account by contacting [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. We will honor these rights as required by applicable law. Note that information already published (and copied by others) may persist beyond deletion of your account, and we may retain certain records as required by law.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. The integrity of a verified track record depends on an append-only ledger; historical entries are not altered once recorded.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International users
We operate in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States and other jurisdictions, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
